I am not a morning person… Well… technically. I love the mornings until it hits around 11am. After the sun beams down on my head, I start to miss the nights and cold air. As well as the bright stars. Yes, I know it sounds corny, but I love space stuff, and being out late at night is the best dose of medicine for me.
When I have time to unwind, I love to go out in my garden and have a good smoke, staring at the stars. While doing so, I always have a journal or two (One for book ideas and one for personal thoughts), a cup of coffee or two, and then a good strain for smoking. While outside, no matter day or night, I always have Gracie (my dog) by my side as she chills near me. She doesn’t like it when I smoke, but she understands as long as I give her butt scrathes and or belly rubs.

Back on topic… Sorry.
But when I am outside day or night, having a journal to write in just feels right. I don’t remember one day that I didn’t have a journal in my hand or backpack. As a child, since I had trouble speaking, I would always write, and after finishing a journal, I would add it to my archive. Of course, when writing in my journal, I always had a good cup of coffee and a joint or two. Something about a warm cup of coffee or tea and a good smoke sesh hits different as I’m brainstorming. Plus, just being outside with my dog and soaking in the sunlight or moonlight feels perfect, and I’m more motivated to work on anything.
If you do journal…
What do you write about? And if you need help to think what to write… My advice is to look around your surroundings. Look at a flower or a leaf and describe what you see. For me, I once wrote about rain drops falling on my firepit. I then made a short poem called, “The Flames and Dropplits.” Or another idea is to just draw a quick sketch. The thing about journaling is that your limits is controled by your imagination. Great inventions were created just by a simple sketch.
The point is… your limits are up to you when it comes to journaling. Even pressing flowers on a page or two is something interesting. Overall, whatever you write… I hope it’s something that makes you motivated to pursue creative paths.
