Weekly Blog #5 (Summer Exploration)

Summer… Hot sun, burning rays, smell of BBQ, and nature exploration.

For me, this is my summer.

Honestly, I am not a summer person, as I get severe migraines. Yet, it doesn’t stop me from going out hiking, seeking a thrill out in nature. Especially adventuring with my doggo, Gracie. Even with the pain-in-the-butt migraines, being out in nature feels right. As a writer, I believe the balance of writing and adventuring is divided by 10/90. Writing is important, and so is exploring and gaining new experiences, even if they are comfortable or uncomfortable.

My point is… Writing is the simple part, but getting out and embracing something new or old again can help with the function of writing. For me, when I am outside and not stuck in my studies, I feel more motivated to write as well as be inspired by my surroundings. Something about the outdoors feels just right. And again, I got a dog that needs to go out, and keeping Gracie stuck inside seems morally wrong sometimes.

Overall, there’s another reason why I want to explore out of my comfort zone. As a writer, I feel like a side character or a storyteller who is not part of one’s story. As I am embarking on and studying for the next story. It’s also important to learn new skills and traits for more inspiration. For starters, I’m going to get my boating license soon.

Reason why?

I want to know how a boat works, what makes sailing unique, and so much more. I am a big adventurer, and one big dream is sailing across the seas to who knows where. Of course, I know the risk, but that’s the best part… life is always about risk. I mean, sure, there are limits, but I believe it’s part of the job.

Anyways, enough of my random talks.

I guess the message I am trying to say is… Writing isn’t always about writing; it’s about taking in the moment and enjoying the adventure that is right in front of you. Anyone can write, but stepping away from writing and jumping into what was written is the best. Overall, have a great adventure.
