When it comes to summer, the only thing I look forward to is the cold mornings. Summer weather makes it more cozy to enjoy the mornings without being too cold, but breezy enough. Especially living in this weird California weather. Of course, summer isn’t just about hot weather, refreshing lemonade, and sweating in awkward spots. It’s about spending time with friends and family, going outside, and just enjoying the fresh air.
Even without spending time with friends or family, just spending time alone and relaxing with a good book is a great personal summer vacation. But being outside is more than just all that. For me, it’s about getting out and exploring new and or old things.
Yes, I know I keep saying this like a broken record, but it’s true.
One of the most important things about being a writer is more about the experience than the writing. I am pretty sure that I have said/written about this before in these blogs, but it’s true. Sometimes closing the laptop or putting down the pencil and just living is enough for some, or even for most.
What do I mean by living?
I mean that enjoying life out is amazing. Again, I know not many have the luxury of spending free time out and about. But when it does happen, the moment is best kept in memory. I don’t like to get really, really personal sometimes, as privacy is a blessing. But being ill here and there impacted how I see life, as I used to spend most of my life indoors growing up. Basically, anything outside was harmful to my low immune system, but that didn’t stop me from cycling, hiking, and enjoying nature.
Short story… Don’t let anything or anyone stop you from living your dream life.
So whatever you’re doing and/or thinking right now. Ask yourself: “Am I happy right now?”
Whatever the answer is, ponder it and consider the next small step for you. For me, I am going to cycle more and get more sunlight from hiking. I know I gotta get back into writing more, but sometimes enjoying the summer weather feels right. Overall, enjoy the summer and have a great week/weekend.
